Financing the treatment expenses of disabled children
Cause information at a glance
In this project, the costs for changing the bandages for a child with spinal cord amputation was provided.
The help-seeker supported in this cause is a child with congenital spinal cord amputation, living in a deprived rural area of Zanjan city. The guardians of the child have very low income and are unable to provide the basic needs of the family. The help-seeker underwent a surgery in 2021 June. Despite receiving support for the costs of the hospital and surgery, the family was still unable to purchase the material for changing the dressing after the surgery that needs to be done weekly.
The help-seeker lives with their mother who does not have an income and faces challenges providing the daily basic items for the family, obviously the treatment costs are an extra burden. This child has been already supported by RWB for educational causes. With the financial aid for their treatment, we hope that they can get back to normal life and pursue their education soon.
Following the surgery, the dressing needed to be changed weekly for a period of one month (4 weeks). The cost of each dressing was 2,5 million IRR. The total cost for four dressing changes (10 million IRR) was provided.
The required budget for this project is provided from the monthly income of the association (One-off or recurring donations).
